Union Clock Company

"The Union Clock Company was formed in Bristol, Connecticut around 1843 and operated there until 1849. It was a company founded by a group of 20 mechanics with the intent of manufacturing "O.G." clocks and wood works mechanisms. By 1845 the company's staff had been reduced to only 13 partners due to pressure from the CONNECTICUT PROTECTIVE CLOCK COMPANY's guild of clockmakers with which the Union Clock Company's partners refused to affiliate. Their factory was located at the corner of South and Union Streets in Bristol. It burned in 1845. This is a very hard-to-find example of their clocks which do not often enter the market these days. It is a 30-hour cottage clock with an alarm mechanism
The Union Clock Company was succeeded in 1854 by the Empire Clock Company."
